Senior Mechanical Designer/Analyst
Key Tasks Mechanical Engineering Tasks

Working together with the Optical Structures team and the Project’s Systems Engineer to develop a working specification for optical systems.

Design the systems to fulfil customer requirements using 3D modelling tools

Complete manufacturing drawings to enable the designs to be manufactured
-
Documenting and implementing design changes using Engineering Change Control (ECN) thus maintaining and controlling build standard.

Create PCB board outlines and liaise with the ECAD team to ensure that the completed PCA will fit within the required envelopes.

Undertake integration of the mechanical components in the clean rooms.

Maintain a design log, summarising each step in the design, development & test process.
Analysis Tasks

Undertake structural and thermal analysis at component and system level in collaboration with the Senior Mechanical Analyst. This may take the form of hand calculations or computer simulations.

Work with the Senior Mechanical Analyst to develop the companies understanding of structural response and thermal design.

- Develop the Bill of Materials to allow the MRP system to reflect the completed spacecraft
