SPACECRAFT MISSIONS -
SYSTEMS ENGINEER
Responsible
For
You will be
responsible for the systems level design of GEO space systems and be the
Business Line Engineer for the GEO program.
Key Purpose
of Job
You will
support bid activities and mission/spacecraft level studies for all
types of GEO satellites.
This role involves a mixture of mission and system engineering during
bid, contractual, and mission phases.
Key Tasks
System
engineer/technical lead on satellite missions from contract. This will
require involvement in assembly, integration and test phases, with
direct responsibility in spacecraft level and system end to end tests.
You will conduct customer-facing meetings and presentation at all
project stages Other duties will include system level design of space
and ground segments including requirements analysis, sensitivity
analysis, mission analysis and design trade-offs.
You will support the Business
Line Manager in developing the engineering aspects of the business
planning for the GEO product. To develop and maintain the Engineering
Development Plan for GEO satellites to satisfy the GEO Business Plan.
Provide strategic steer for all
bids/studies performed on GEO products, to ensure
harmonisation
across designs. To prepare technical responses to tenders for a variety
of customers and also undertake mentoring of junior members of the
team/project as required.
Qualifications
You will
require a degree in Engineering or equivalent
Experience
You will be
experienced spacecraft Systems Engineer with experience of designing
space missions. Experience is required for the designing and
analysing
space and ground segments to the sub-system level.
Knowledge
and Skills
Good all
round technical knowledge down to component level. You will have
excellent inter-personal skills, with the ability to deal with customer
and technical representatives.
You will need to be highly
organised
and motivated with the ability to work under pressure.
