To provide space environmental radiation advice,
studies and bids support as required from satellite systems level
through to components.
Key Purpose of Job
To support bid activities and mission/spacecraft level
studies for all types of satellites. To perform characterisation
of the radiation environment using appropriate software tools and
interpret the radiation environment into engineering specifications. You
will also be required to direct and support test campaigns on new
technologies/devices

Your main tasks will be the
characterisation
of the radiation environment for mission studies, bids and projects,
radiation
modelling
of the environment both at system level and through the use of sector
analysis. To identify the
key radiation effects on the spacecraft for the relevant orbit and to
provide support to engineers for selection of EEE technology for the
future through radiation analysis and tests. You will provide
recommendations and direction relating to radiation test planning, test
support, test results interpretation and knowledge management, and
update and maintain the radiation test database Other tasks include
examining in-orbit assets to support understanding of component / unit
behaviour
in the space environment and to support production of guidelines for
engineers for different radiation environments, parts selection
approach. You will be
interfacing with projects, system, subsystem and unit engineers as
appropriate throughout
